«Curtain married to Peters

John Curtain, a negro, of the City of Quebec, labourer, single man, aged twenty three years, was married (by banns duly published), to Mary Peters, a negro woman, of the same city, spinster, aged nineteen years, this twentieth day of February, in the years of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixteen.
By me, Father Jehosaphat Mountain, Officiating Minister at Quebec.
Contracting parties John Curtain his mark + Mary Peters her mark +
Present Paul Cremer his mark + John Lewis his mark + Ann York her mark +
».
